Suryakumar Yadav ton powers Mumbai to 218

Upcoming youngster Suryakumar Yadav struck a stroke-filled unbeaten century to power Mumbai to 218 for 3 at stumps on day one of their four-day West Zone Col. C K Nayudu under 22 league tie against Gujarat at the MCA Bandra Kurla Complex ground on Friday.

Home team skipper Yadav struck 14 fours and 3 sixes in his fine, unbeaten 100 made in only 108 balls. He also put on 67 runs for the third wicket with opener Rahul Tondulkar (39) to take Mumbai from 83 for 2 to 150.

Later Yadav, who has been at the crease for just over two and a half hours, also added 68 runs for the unbroken fourth wicket with Suddesh Lad (23 not out).

For the visitors, who won the toss, opening bowlers Kushan Patel and Bhavesh Baria got a wicket each along with slow bowler Jesal Karia.(PTI)
