Nottingham Playhouse theatre goers will get the chance to bid for a round of golf with England’s Graeme Swann at Belvoir Castle Cricket Trust’s Charity Gala Performance of The Ashes by Michael Pinchbeck on Tuesday 13th September.  This unique prize is part of the silent auction which takes place on an evening where all funds raised will go to children’s charity Belvoir Castle Cricket Trust.  Tickets for the Gala Performance can be purchased from the Box Office on 0115 941 9419 or on their website http://bit.ly/qpc8if or for further information contact Nina Coverley on 07962 48736.

The Ashes, which has opened with favourable reviews is a new play by local, award winning playwright Michael Pinchbeck and is the true story of Harold Larwood from miner to cricketing legend and the controversial Bodyline tour of 1932/33.  It’s not just about cricket, The Ashes is a dramatic story about honour, pride, class, politics and sport – and is sure to enthral and engage on many levels.

Darren Bicknell, Belvoir Castle Cricket Trust, said: "I am delighted that my ex-Nottinghamshire team mate ‘Swanny’ is able to find time in his busy schedule to help us with our fundraising.  This is a unique opportunity for 2 people to play a round of golf with a sporting hero at the luxurious Stapleford Park."

Graeme Swann said "I have known Darren for 15 years and I am delighted to be able to help his fundraising efforts. The Trust is doing fantastic work in introducing cricket and the countryside to a wide range of special needs and disadvantaged children.  Due to England commitments I am not able to be at the Gala Performance but I am sure it will be a fantastic evening and I look forward to playing golf with the winning bidder."
