Rahane: The last few games were not good for me. I practiced hard for this game and I would like to thank the team management. The partnership with Gambhir was crucial and we decided to hang in there. I decided to play my natural game. It is a dream come true to be part of the winning side.
Ajinkya Rahane is the MoM for his 91 off 104 balls.
MS Dhoni: It was a very good performance. The middle order did not bat well. The openers batted well. The bowling was good but we presented too many boundary options. If we don't give too many boundaries, that puts pressure on the opposition. We have to improve in this aspect. There was a decent amount of dew and the ball was coming onto the bat. The way Rahane and Gambhir batted was crucial. We lost wickets at the crucial stage and this will be one aspect where we will work on. The youngsters did a good job in England and we struggled with the ball. We are backing ourselves to chase any target.
Cook: It is tough to digest this result. We performed better but this will hurt us. Our fielding has been below par and it cost us 20-25 runs today. Fielding was the difference between the two sides today. Chasing six an over is difficult, but credit to the way MS and Jadeja handled it towards the end. It was a good pitch to bat on.
India have clinched the series here. This must feel good for them after their recent thrashings in England. Rahane and Parthiv started things off superbly with a great partnership. There was a slight stutter in the middle overs when the middle order failed to get going. However, the unbeaten 65 run stand off just 47 balls between Dhoni and Ravindra Jadeja helped India get over the ropes. Cook would be very disappointed with this loss and now England will have to play for pride.
